HM at last

Really happy to post that we finally ran our 10 paws HM yesterday, and we are looking very likely to make our Β£500 target for Independent Setter Rescue and Rehome 😁. Still can’t quite believe I’ve done it, and just before my 70th birthday. Just goes to show that it is never too late to either start a new path in your life, or indeed to reach a seemingly impossible goal.

This running business certainly is addictive πŸΎπŸΎπŸΎπŸΎπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

First time ever I have seen my two Setters quite tired, but they soon recovered at wanted to go out for a walk in the afternoon πŸ™„πŸ˜†and thank you!

This really is some feat. Half Marathon really is a fantastic distance and as you say, to complete this before your 70th really will inspire others. Well done because this is an epic achievement!!

Massive congratulations, what a great birthday present for yourself. An inspiration to someone who’s still contemplating 10 miles. Happy running πŸ€—

Thank you, finding it ok running it's just getting the mindset for being out so long and finding suitable routes as I hate doing circuits🀣

Me too, basically had three circular routes around car, did have to do one small section three times, but apart from that it was all fresh routes, would find it very hard knowing I had to do a circuit multiple times 😱

Awesome Setters! What a fabulous achievement for you and your Setters. You’re clearly a fit bunch! πŸ˜€πŸΎ

Must admit I was surprised that boys were tired as they are mega fit, never seen them asking to go in car at end. I hung around for a bit before driving home as thought I better make sure I was walked off enough, but in the end they were so insistent that they wanted to get in the car and lie down I gave in. No stamina these youngsters πŸ˜†

Thank you! Must admit run started as challenge for me as I need a goal to work towards in life, but as I was then asked to be a trustee of the charity I thought I could raise some money for them. Started off with target of Β£100 as I don’t have many friends, and no family now, and was not very comfortable with asking for money, but it’s amazing what a few photos of my boys managed to do πŸ™‚

Thank you, kind words. I do hope it helps someone who may be a bit older and thinks they may have to scale back their goals, I passionately believe that you can do whatever you want to do. Having said that I do know that I am very lucky not to have any health issues that make things harder.
