I'm back to 10k distance!! I managed to get a long run in on Sunday, while listening to motivational podcasts (I've just started doing this and its a gamechanger!)
I have an appointment to have half of the splint off my teeth tomorrow, the other half needs to stay in place for another few weeks as the damage to that tooth was worse.
I seem to have found a new gear since the accident, my focus and motivation seem to be through the roof. Had I not become a runner, I don't think I'd have coped with things as well as I am. Over the course of three marathons, I've discovered I am more resilient that I ever thought possible, and that's carried over to other parts of my life. I'm definitely going to have a lot more issues, setbacks and mental health wobbles over my teeth, but I know I can push through it. The comeback is stronger than the setback.

I read your recent posts, but somehow didn't reply. I am sorry. What a lot you have been through and to read how you have progressed is so, so good. Well done to you! Brilliant! Clearly there will be more hurdles but what a mantra, 'The comeback is stronger than the setback.' Wow! That really is something. 🏃🏻♂️
Thank you 😊 Yeah I love that saying, it's definitely true! The podcasts I've been listening to also centre around bad things happening and how that's where we grow and learn. Ideally I'd have chosen a different setback to this, but I'll work with the hand I've been dealt 😂
Is it particular series of podcasts? I'd be interested to listen to them. I really enjoy listening to podcasts on my runs. Life Changing and some of the Lives Less Ordinary among many others. Those are both on BBC Sounds.
Cheers! I'm sure I won't be so confident when I have to have implants put in, but it'll be ok. I'm going to make this experience into something positive no matter what
Exactly that, just got to come back stronger than before! I just had half the splint off, so that's a small improvement. Feels nice not having metal digging into my lip!
My husband (donkeys years ago) had some of his his top teeth “chained” together and glued as they’d been dislodged in an accident. They were great afterwards and have been fine until yesterday when he lost one eating his lunch 😁. He can’t get a dentist appointment til next Tuesday 🤭
I've not even given my plan any thought yet! I should probably have a think. And I highly doubt it, even at the best of times my long distance running is lacklustre! I'll just be happy if I make it to the start line to be honest
