I am over the moon to have finished this because it was touch and go on so many levels today! I woke up so nervous and honestly wanted to just crawl back into bed and pull the duvet over my head - but I didnβt, and of course now Iβm home I am so pleased I didnβt.
I was a bit daft because I stuck a partial new route on at the beginning, which was much hillier than I was expecting. And even though Iβve done a fair few relatively easy 10 mile runs recently, at 10k I was crying on the inside and I couldnβt feel my knees π€£! To say today was sheer bloody mindedness and determination would be an understatement. But massive shoutout to Cmoi because I donβt think that without Don Henley at the end that I downloaded Iβd have perked up quite as much as I did!
I am very proud of myself for finishing today, but thinking of everyone else running as well was such a great help.
Have a smashing day all! πππ

Huge congratulations on such a milestone run π You really showed grit, determination and spirit to get this one done. Nothing like the rest after to look back and be proud of what you have achieved ππππ
Congratulations, you deserve to be very proud of yourself Frenc, not sure if you felt the way that lady is on that photograph at the top of your post, well done on completing the Healthunlocked Half Marathon, now go and celebrate your wonderful achievement ππΎ π
Congratulations! And 10/10 for persisting. You took on those challenges. Amazing effort. No wonder youβre ecstatic. Enjoy your thoroughly deserved rest and recovery.πβ¨π«
You are right to be proud, Frenc. This is an amazing achievement β especially with the added hills. And great that you crawled out of bed when it was so tempting not to.
Awesome Frenc, just Awesome, I wonder if your knees ran away with my legs? π mine have threatened to leave for good if I make them run again tomorrow
Tee hee do you know my knees arenβt too bad today, theyβre back in the building at least. Now my hips, thatβs another matter! Have no idea how Iβm going to walk down the hill to work π€£.
Ah you should see me today - I was praying Iβd actually be able to get out of bed! Iβll be doing the shuffle all day methinks. Maybe Iβll buy the new issue of Runners World and shout at it π€£ like a mad person. πππ
Haha, yeah my folks and me have to still put new laminate in 2 rooms (date not decided yet). I think I'll be crawling when that's done! I'll try to imagine I did a HM instead!
So inspiring to read of your determination. Brilliantly well done and thank you. I do hope that your body is getting back to feeling its usual self. ππππ»ββοΈπͺπ₯ππ
