This week I have ran 3 times and i have come home soaked and freezing from each one and I’m getting a bit fed up of it now.
Tuesday night was an interval training session and we had an almighty hail storm which caused me to have numb toes cos my feet got so wet. Yesterday was a 40 minute recovery run but again the rain decided to join us so I was really miserable by the end. This morning looked promising and then 2 miles into our 8 miles the heavens opened and we once again finished soaked to the skin.
Today resulted in my stripping buck ass naked inside my dryrobe and wearing only that to drive home so I am glad the car didn’t break down.
I am dying for some dry runs! Next run is on Sunday and the forecast is not looking promising

Brilliant sunshine ☀ , not a cloud in the sky, temperature 18C.....that is the weather in... Portugal yesterday and today, ha, the weather in the UK is cold and wet, well done to you tiggs1 on getting out there in that rain and wind, just hope that the weather in Portugal comes here, might have to wait a few months. 😊
I am just glad I have races booked that mean I need to put the mileage in otherwise I think I would be enjoying the couch again for a few months. I hope you get better weather than me for your runs Al
Wet and windy weather might stop me going to parkruns, however, so far it has not stopped me from doing JuJu's Magic 10, I have had to avoid the mud and deeper puddles, I was thinking on celebrating the first year of running in proper running shoes to go to that specialist sports shop where I bought them and got a gait analysis and buy proper trail shoes and perhaps a new running belt so that I could run in the mud on certain trails and at parkruns where it is muddy in wet weather.
Oh dear tiggs1 , it’s ok running in the rain or drizzle now and again but not every flippin run, I can sympathise with you there!! Thank goodness indeed you didn’t break down, That would’ve been a bit awkward!! I am keeping my fingers crossed that your next run is dry for you 🤞🏻
I know, I know Rotten innit. Still, " it won't always be dark at six", as my old ma used to say I got drowned again today and had to walk back as I did a run/shop. More fool me. Hailed too. Bah! You do kind of get used to it though. I wrapped my dosh in a plastic bag along with the shopping list. My main consideration was not getting my porridge oats wet.
I'm with you there Tiggs! Unfortunately I'm having to work outside in it all day too. I can just about bring myself to run, but I won't cycle in the wet and wind. Please, please, please dry up soon and let the winds drop a bit too .... On the plus side though, it is getting lighter earlier in the morning and later in the evening - the days are lengthening which must increase the odds of a dry window for running on any given day, right? 😍
I know what you mean, I'm fed up of wringing out my underwear! I've got a 10k race in a couple of weeks, so need to be prepared for anything! I hope your car continues to be reliable! 😁
