So there I was, running along quite happily this morning on a new route, (it was still dusk) about halfway into my 8.04K (5 miles) long run and I had to cross a busyish junction. I started to cross the road and a car was coming towards me so I ran a bit faster to the other side expecting it to just be a normal path but it was just muddy grass! I had no choice but to go across because of the oncoming cars but in my rush, I slipped and fell onto the mud and grass! I got up pretty much straight away and carried on with my run, I am so glad that it was just muddy grass and not concrete, otherwise I would have hurt myself. Thankfully, I didn't hurt myself and I actually found it quite funny, I ran off laughing to myself. Note to self: find a safer place to cross that busy road or avoid busy roads all together!
Oh and remind me never to jump off a 5"6 stage the day before my long run and when you have a race on Sunday again...
