After the disappointment of the GSR being cancelled, it was a day to look for the positives! Firstly, the bonus of not having to get up really early to head down to Portsmouth 👍😀🛌 and then later this afternoon a 10k out on the local fields and bridleways. It had rained heavily but was just stopping when I headed out, which made for a wonderfully wet and muddy run! My trusty Hoka Speedgoats looked after me well in all the mud and I took an undulating route to give my legs a bit of a workout too!
Not quite the run I had planned but a beautiful autumnal one instead - and a reminder (if I needed one) that we are now moving in to the time of year I love running best!☺️🏃♀️

Yup, I have been lazy too. A few exercises and that’s it! Autumn is a really nice time to run up in the woods; the colours, the light, and the wildlife change the experience completely. Must get out tomorrow. That run sounds to have been exactly what you needed. 🙂
The strong winds have returned tonight, as forecast. It will still be pretty windy tomorrow, but 18 mph with gusts of 31 rather than 33 mph with gusts of 55 tonight! I need to get a run in tomorrow somehow.
I did it today misswobble. Just had to get it out of my system! Enjoy the footy! We are struggling a bit through not being able to finish good moves at one end and slip ups at the other; we will come good I am sure.
We’re in the lounge tomorrow. Pre-match grub and then hopefully we’ll win under our new lights. We’ve got a new scoreboard and new sound system too. It’s all going on now we’re in L2. It’s getting exciting 🤗
Oh I know! Rags to riches. The agony and the ecstasy 😁
Our manager signed a contract extension today 🤗
We’ve got Kieran Dyer on our staff and he turned up at Parkrun last weekend with a player and assistant coach. He’s in training for the next London Marathon in aid of a liver transplant charity. He’s still in recovery himself after his own transplant 🙂
Well done for getting out and getting your tun done when it calmed down a bit.
It was a bit intense waiting for a decision during the week. It was so disappointing that the race was cancelled, but living here, I fully support this decision. The Great Run team would not have cancelled lightly and so many organisations were involved in that final decision. A lot of runners who had travelled down and booked accommodation were seen running today at a time of their choice, which is great, but it would have been very different for volunteers expected to be out from 8.00 to gone 4.00 in a storm.
I really felt in limbo, but I persuaded Oldgirlruns to go to the prom for a walk , in full waterproofs, when it calmed down a bit. It energised me to be out in the elements.
