Hi! Loved my fourth half. I had trained and read everything at I could.... I have to say that Valencia has stolen my heart and, apart from Barcelona, I have only ever done my long runs there.
The weather was perfect. Here, we are used to high temperatures but I love running at about 13 degrees and have had my best times then.
Started well and ran my record 10k time, felt really good but at 17k, the heat started to kick in at 22 degrees and I have to admit that, for the first time in my life, I felt that I had something like sunstroke. My family were tracking me and the projected finishing time of 2 hours 17 mins. was a dream for me.
Well, in the end I finished within the cut-off time at 2 hours 29 mins. I had the best half of my life but the heat let me down in the last few kilometres.
Still, I did it. Now, I need a project. A really cool Half in Europe, where it won't be too hot. Suggestions welcome!

Lovely smile! Well done for braving the heat - sounds like a beautiful run xxx
I don't have firsthand knowledge of any European races, but I remember backintime mentioning the Paris Half Marathon in March next year - should be pretty cool in both respects!
Congratulations on your 4th half marathon, and in warmer weather too. I see you’ve got the union flag in your bib - were you running for team GB 🏃♀️🇬🇧?
Thanks! We were given the option of having our flag on the bib so I said yes! It was great the previous time as everyone was cheering me on in English!
Forgot to mention Tallinn also. I think there are cheaper flights from UK to Estonia etc. Nice route with an ancient city centre finish. The early autumn event is a biggie and well organised too.
