Well, it's Saturday and tomorrow is Manchester half marathon. My second half marathon of 2022, and indeed ever. I ran my first in Wilmslow in March this year and whilst physically demanding, I enjoyed it. Now in my mid 60's, I'm no speed runner. Completing the event is a victory to me. I completed the Wilmslow in under 2 1/2 hours and was hoping the Manchester on a flatter route, may allow a slightly faster time. However on this occasion I'm attending the event with my run buddy and she is slightly slower than me. As I said to her, we start together, we finish together. It is televised on BBC2 from 11am. Keep an eye out for the elderly bald chap running in North West Blood Bike hi-viz attire for my charity fund raising.

Good luck 🍀 and have fun 🙂
I’ve awarded you a half marathon badge for Wilmslow so you can run tomorrow knowing you’ve already done the distance and got the badge to prove it!
We’re cheering you on with lots of pom poms 🥳👍
Have a great time….. 😎
Good luck to you Tom-cat on running your second half marathon in Manchester, I will be looking out for you when watching it on TV 👍
Have a good one Tom-cat!
I too am running my second in-person HM tomorrow although mine's in Hackney. Looks like it's going to be warm!
Best of luck Tom-cat ! I’ll be glued to the small screen to see if I can see you. I think you will have a smashing day 😊.
Best of luck doing the Great Manchester Run tomorrow.
Best of luck Tom-cat! You’ll both be great!
All done. Very sore heels on my ageing feet today, but other that I feel good. It proved a memorable run. My eldest son who lives about 50 miles from us, entered the same run and we crossed paths and high fived, mid course. He topped it off by announcing his engagement when we met after the run.
