I set off as early as I could (around 7.00) so that I didn't meet too many people on the run. We can't leave the village between 6.00 on Friday and 6.00 on Monday so I had to do a circuit and repeat it as much as possible, changing direction occasionally so as to avoid getting bored! It was very different experience running on my own but my husband came down to the beach when I had run about 14k so I had someone to cheer me on physically every 2k, which was nice. I ran in a thick mist at the beginning but bit by bit the sun came through. Towards the end, around 18k, it started to get tough. The incentive (and the opportunity) to train just weren't the same as my previous half marathons. The thought of Valencia and Barcelona always spurred me on but at least this time I will have a medal too (New York Liberty Run). Although it ended up being my slowest ever time (2 hours 34 mins), it was fun and I'm so glad I signed up for it. As I've said before, virtual runs have been a big part of my 2020 as I only managed to do one half marathon in Barcelona last February. Well, I'm already looking for the next one! Cross fingers that my cancelled San Sebastián Half will take place in April 2021. Good luck with all your runs!!

Wow! Well done on such a convoluted run! So many anti-Covid precautions are understandably arbitrary, but why weekends where you are? 🤔
Because where I live, a lot of people have a second residence. It's a very Spanish thing. It's common to live in a flat in the city and have a second home on the coast or in the mountains for weekend, holidays and retirement. The plan is to stop these people moving around at the weekends and possibly taking the virus with them.
WOOHOO!!!!!!! Well done, sounds like an interesting run!
Congratulations, I have awarded you our special HUHM Half Marathon medal xxx
Many congratulations 👏 very well done! Hey, the time doesn't matter. It's another one completed and more distance in your legs. Plenty more adventures on your journey forward. A HM is always a terrific distance to achieve 😁
Well done 👏👏👏 Sounds like that took some planning! Must have nice having your husband cheer you on 😊
Great job in achieving the half marathon and under such restrictions too. 👏👍🏅🏃🏻♀️😊
Well done - it's definitely tougher on your own. All those turns plus people and traffic dodging will have slowed you down and disturbed your rhythm too - I don't think it's realistic to expect a good time under the circumstances. But completing it, that's a big achievement!!!
Brilliant - love to see another HUHM - vHalf Marathon. Woohoo
