Half marathon in Valencia

Well, finally got to run a half marathon in Valencia again after waiting two years. Ran my fastest 10k yet (1 hour 5 mins.) but slowed down in the last few kilometres as it was much hotter than my normal running temperature and didn't want to overheat like 2 years ago. Still, it was great to finish my eighth half in an acceptable time. Now, I need to look for number nine!

Well done! I love Valencia, it’s an amazing city. I bet it was warmish 😁. Did you finish by the beach? ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi! We went by the beach area though I didn't really see it. We finished on Tarongers up by the University/Polytechnic. They changed the route I knew and loved this year, maybe to cause less of an impact on the city with road closures. I must admit it wasn't such an impressive route for me as I loved running through the old town and all the roads on the new route seemed very similar. Having said that, I love Valencia too as it's where I ran my first half (by chance a World Championship so it was an incredible route and a wonderful experience). Already looking at the dates for next year.

Thank you so much! Love all the positive feedback from everybody. Felt a bit low at the end when the heat was just too much but so wonderful to hear all the positive comments!

Nice one on the PB there Tjcp and it seems you have enough experience to know when to reign it in so that you don't overheat.

Thanks!!! It was to commemorate the thirtieth year (not counting last year) of half marathons/marathons in Valencia.
