Looking forward to doing the 10 mile race on 20th October in York. Still unsure about doing the Yorkshire Marathon next year though but hopefully I'll have a better idea after the race on Sunday.
Have had a shit week at work. It's taken all my mental and physical strength to get up and go to work. I couldn't wait to get out of there on Wednesday. I should have stopped and dated the brown envelopes that are used when no notes are available but I ran out of time and I don't get paid overtime. Some may say that it's a poor attitude but as I, like my colleagues, haven't had the salary increment why should I put myself out. I do my hours, often more as I am there at least 15mins before my start time and leave just after the end of the shift. I am not back until Wednesday as I am travelling home Monday and have booked Tuesday off too but expecting earache because of it.
Been looking every night for a job but nothing catches my eye. It does my head in when you see a job and then read what they expect you to do for the money. It's probably symptomatic of society now that those who leave aren't replaced and the extra work is dumped on other staff. Sorry for the rant but I have had enough this week and although I am trying to relax and look forward to my weekend in York I am dreading returning on Wednesday even for one day (only work Monday to Wednesday)

You don't have to make any excuses for doing no more than you're paid for. Except the years when i earned money writing, all my jobs were low paid: shop work, factory work, barmaid, stuffing envelopes, cleaning, supporting special needs students. I did my hours and that was that.
Thanks cheeky chipmunks I will and as far as work is concerned I will forget about it. Applied for a job today but won't know until after the cut off date early November. Really looking forward to this weekend. Wish I had more leave left but c'est la vie. Will have to find events on a Saturday or just stay Sat night and come home after the race on the Sunday.
