Week 7 Run 2

Modified plan this week after the Achilles issue on Tues. Didn’t feel too bad last night following the sports massage, ice and a days rest. Decided to try some really easy miles in the forest just to see, but was totally prepared to stop if there was any pain. I find the trails less of an impact than tarmac so it’s easier to run on when I have a few niggles. Fortunately no pain other than a tight right calf muscle but I think that was residual from the speed session on Tuesday. Anyway, I just stopped and stretched it out as and when required.

Plan for yesterday was 12 x (3 mins @ 5k-1 min @ MP) fartlek run, so I am not risking that. Anyway, with the Hillsborough 10k on Sunday, I don’t want to do 3 speed sessions in a week. Am actually going to miss doing a LSR on Sunday. I don’t really like running fast 😂. Already feeling sick at the thought of it...I get so nervous before these things, I wonder why I put myself through it just for a medal and free t-shirt 🤦🏻‍♀️.

Lol! That's funny 😀 Hopefully it's a medal a free t-shirt and a great big runner's high with a wonderful sense of achievement. That would make the nerves worth it, right? Take care of that achilles, good luck and enjoy 🙂
