If you donβt Mind it doesnβt Matter.π€ππ€£
Itβs another Pete Magill day for me.π€
Come to think of it since reading Abiβs link on here I will soon get moving along and practise some of his stuff. All the twitches and more.
I never cease to be amazed by and with this running malarkey, no gym for 7 months,no running for 2 months, just garden graft, loads of quality sleep ( Matt Walker) and repair time.Such a lot of opportunities. My single little brain cell canβt keep up.π
Now running as quick in my life over short distances as ever I have and going to go quicker.
Look out Achilles,I am going to be kinder to you this time, perhaps.Have not got anywhere near eye balls on stocks yet.
Hey ho, why should I worry about techie pace records,itβs away above my pay grade.ππ¦.
The professionals say none of us are short of pace,π€ that is not our limiter itβs our endurance to sustain it over longer distances, small or large.
Sorry but I do have to think aloud.Empty, excited vessels and all that.
I think maybe what does matter for me is quality over quantity.I think it makes sense for my situation, headless chicken stuff was and is exciting, but time for a cooler, more chilled approach perhaps.
Go the Admins, go the magic forum and all the running family that is HealthUnlocked.
Could not catch the grandsons ,nor was I able to upload a pic of the fab five.
Aww thank you Jan for your support and confidence.β€οΈππ
That is a great strategy Jan.Your happy pace, thatβs perfect.I remember your fantastic effort and achievements over 5k in a previous speed challenge.
There is no way I could sustain any modestly quick pace over one k at present, let alone 5k.
I love that Abi laid on both speed and distances challenges. It is giving me an opportunity to dip my toes in the water. Not ready for quantity, if ever, so my choice is to focus on one little bit at a time and see what is the best I can do with it.Never forgetting the pleasure bit and most of all the magic of the forum.
Sometimes I think I am still too intense, self esteem issues, but it truly does not matter.ππ€£.
Heavy again dear Jan.β€οΈ
You are a super runner and Admin.βοΈβοΈππ
What a lovely photo of you and your grandchildren Tbae, I know you have been doing a lot of gardening recently and have not been running for two months, I think you said come September you are going to restart with C25K, best of luck for that, just be careful with Achilles when you do start again.
As for me, this morning I took a trip on the train to Edinburgh, climbed Carlton Hill, I think I was the only Scotsman there, I overheard everyone speaking, but no English at all, mainly Japanese, Spanish and German tourists were there.
After that, I walked on the Royal Mile High Street where all the Fringe shows are taking place at the Edinburgh Festival.
Talking about C25K, yesterday I reran run 2 of week 9 on the exact route I ran last year, two days before my graduation run.
"Enjoy" for the moment your garden before you restart again with C25K
Yes Tbae, gardening is good but can be a little boring cutting the grass and hedge endlessly every week or so, just a reminder to people that "Auld Reekie" is the Scottish word for Edinburgh, it originated as old Scotch for 'Old Smoke' Reekie being smoke from the days when Edinburgh in the 18th and 19th Centuries was a very smoky town, hence Auld/old Reekie/smoke. I knew you knew that but some of our English friends might not have.
Update on regarding my visit to Edinburgh, if I had gone about 5 hours later I could have been stuck on a train for hours on end, later on Wednesday there was a massive thunderstorm between Linlithgow and Edinburgh, it stopped everything, flooded the rail tunnel that I had gone through 5 hours earlier, there are photos and a video on the BBC Scotland News Website of quite dramatic scenes.
Fabulous pic Bob, another pair of medals to show for how well you've done in your life ππ»ππ
You do push yourself to do so much more than the majority of your peers and that is to be commended. You are the magic Bob. π« I so hope I am doing even half of what you are when/if I reach that point.
Yes the blessing of five grandchildren to our two daughters is just wonderful.
I was a useless Father Jo, work alcoholic, my wife was the home maker and support.I provided but I realise with the grandchildren how much I missed. But families are so scattered around the world now but the power of daily contact probably more than compensates.
With your talents and wisdom you are going places Wonder Woman.
Interesting Jo, predictions due to improvements in medical knowledge and expertise, generally your generation are going to see 100 plus and my grandchildrenβs generation are going to see 130 plus.Hard to get your head round for my generation, nevertheless amazing.
Hold to that young Jo and enjoy it all with the love of your life Mr Brown.
Ah give yourself a bit more credit, girls especially are massively influenced by the fathers. If your girls turned out well then you definitely deserve some credit ππ»π
Given that my Dad only made 56 and mother 62 I'd be happy with 70+.
I think you're thinking of Jo Jones, mine is a Brown and we don't even know where that came from as his granddad was left on a church doorstep.
We'll see. I've certainly got you to inspire me. Shall we see who can crack the marathon first? ππ»π€£
Embarrassing,my second visit is always to apologise.ππ€£
Genes of course play a part,π€
I am less convinced by that now Jo, my Dad 58, tough life and none of todayβs knowledge, bless him.My sister 64 bless her.I also know nothing about my Fathers father.
Mother deceased 95, with two sisters alive today 103 and 101.
Gosh Jo they will probably have to do away with me,it will cost the nhs a fortune.ππ€π€£
So start planning Mrs Brown and enjoy it all.
Thatβs a compliment Jo,inspiring you.
Your out there leading the charge Wonder Woman, and I am going to see if I can get there after you have got everything sussed.Pick your brains.πππ
I will be your Guga Dhin π€ ( Indian water carrier) π€£
