IF IT's GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE US ARMY ?? --

youtube.com/watch?v=G7REHrb... I have come to realise that I have too high of a "running cadence" especially when I am trying to run slowly with a low HR - I was watching this "slow jog" cadence used by the US Army and have an App which works out just what the cadence is - in this case it is only 160BPM. Most of my running recently has been at 190 BPM :( - so tomorrow , I am going out to see how I go "running" at this slow cadence with a close eye on my HR. This will be the centre post of my attempt to get back to running 5K non-stop - slowly!! :)

160 is much more realistic, 192 was far too fast, I have a metronome app, I have set it at 162 cadence/beats/steps a minute and have been gradually increasing my distance from 5K to 7K, my average pace is around 7.30Km, so if I continue up to 10K the time to run a 10K would be around 1 hour 16 minutes.

Very slow running like this at gentle cadence is the core of my hr zone HM training plan.

Yes - this is what I want to do. Just having a bit of a problem actually doing it. :)

I found it mega hard to start running again after my injury time. I just couldn't seem to get lift off. Keep at it, you will get there x

Maybe try more challenging terrain, you'll have to slow down then! My road running cadence is around 180 whereas my trail running is around 150/160.
