I've only gone and signed up for it. Check out that profile! October 29th 2016, wish me luck!? My game-plan is to start off very slowly which, given that the first 5k is sternly uphill, shouldn't be a problem
Am I crazy?

Not sure whether I would say crazy because of elevation or distance or the combination 😉 I have a half marathon with an ascent from 50m to more or less 200m shortly after the start in November....but I am not doing the marathon there! Nothing wrong with gentle jogging and walking of course.
Yes, certifiably crazy, I'm afraid!😉 Good luck all the same!😀
oh dear oh dear oh dear errr good luck! Seriously really good luck.
I did some of my marathon training down in Eastbourne (where this marathon starts and finishes) that first hill is a killer, and that's small compared to the rest.
They also say its the 2nd hardest marathon in the country (i have no idea what 1st is) but your be fine it be great and the people who i know who have done it says it really scenic and beautiful, i wont say what else they said.
I did enter the 10k last year but couldn't do it in the end due to family issues, but i might enter it again this year. Thanks for reminding me.
The hardest one is the ironically named Picnic Marathon in Surrey, with a total ascent of 6000 ft!
Wow! Crazy? I should say so! Good luck with that, you better do plenty of those hill sessions!
Yes, you're utterly bonkers! What is the total elevation?
