Finally across the start line for my HUHM!

So the day arrived that I knew I could do my HM. Quick weather check to see if it was shorts or tights, tights it was.

I had already decided to do a low HR run, aiming for 130 bpm, so no music today - it would increase my pace (& HR)!

A chilly run, but I love the focus on my HR. It keeps things so simple!

Thanks linda9389 and roseabi for sorting out the events!

I've put you down as 2:35:46 - which is a 7:23 HM - but if you have a different figure let us know!

Wow...1st thing I noticed was your HR, I am very impressed that you managed such a long distance while still keeping your HR down. Well done 👏

I did mine today too, yes I got a PB but my HR was awful, too bad to even mention here 😆...i'll be doing some sensible recovery runs for a couple of weeks I think.

I like doing these low HR focused runs. It really keeps things simple! Though my time is 30 mins below my PB, and hadn’t really looked at that.

Well done on getting a PB on your run!!

Thanks, feeling happy and tired 😊

Well done Jay_Gee, I’d have to walk it to get that heart rate 👏👏👏

Great run, have you done a lot of heart rate training? Mine tends to be in mid 160’s but feel comfortable. Seen a few friends on strava doing maffetone training, but to get down to 130’s I’d have to be brisk walking 😀.

Thankyou ScottJB ! I had never heard of maffetone training before!I was just going off articles I had read, and the “go slow to get faster” mentality.

Having googled maffetone I came across this article which made very good reading!

I have tried to do a couple of low HR runs a month, but might look at what I’m doing again...
