Found some new trails!

Our group long run was once again in the heat yesterday. Around 33 by the end. But we had an optional extended route through a trail system which was much cooler under the canopy. About half the group were racing on Sunday and opted to head back before the trails. One of the guys in the group likes exploring and he found a trail 5min from my home which opens onto a whole system I knew nothing about. I am so excited to have these new routes to explore. You’d never say we were so close to the city streets in there. Some very steep hills and many fallen trees make it a little challenging but it was so much fun running in the woods. A few people did not enjoy it as much and turned back but I will definitely be returning. 😁

It looks like a beautiful place to run. You wouldn’t think that it’s close to or in the city! It’s so nice to run in nature specially when you’re in the city all or most of the time.

Thanks Lav, yeah the 401 highway is just a few minutes away. Hoping to see some wildlife in there soon.

If I was not running I likely would never have seen most of these places. What a huge difference running in the cool woods vs the radiant heat from the concrete and asphalt!

Great stuff! 👍😃. I love a new place to run. It heightens the senses and makes you run better I feel I was running through a wooded bit by a lake recently and it felt much cooler under there

I agree. It was a different experience and felt like we were far away up north somewhere. Running by the riverside feels cooler too. In some places you can feel the cool moisture in the air from the water.
