Having now been running and run/walking for around 5 years, and training progressively for longer and slower distances, I have been pondering what to do after I finish this marathon. I have effectively ruined my ability to run continuously for very long/far - having run/walked so much over the last year. I really do like to have a "plan" to follow - so I am going to do this 8 week programme "Master the MIle" podiumrunner.com/blueprint-... This will probably eventually lead to a retraining for the 5K distance . The first day says "Run a 1 mile all-out time trial" -- I think it will also take me at least another 4 weeks before this to be able to do that But I think it will be "different" and fun

Are you starting this now or post marathon?
I agree, it’s great to have a plan 💪👍😃. Sounds like fun Baz. You need to have fun or the grind of long runs can get you down
Good luck with it 👍

The mile is a wonderful distance to run, and tricky to run well... I’d certainly need a plan to do it properly. Looks like fun to me... could fit in after my HM nicely too.
