I don't know about where you are, but this morning I walked to work in the daylight and forgot how cross I had been to lose an hour of sleep on Saturday. The birds were tooting wee love songs to each other, daffodils were bobbing and I had to put my sunglasses on. Perfect running weather ahoy! We've got a few months now before it gets all sticky out, time to get out and enjoy the spring!
Bonus points if anyone gets a flying feet photo of one of their spring runs, like this woolly chap above.
Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week. Please join in the discussion ๐
If you're new or a lurker this is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.
Happy running, awesome people!

With my 30k road race finished yesterday, I am just in recover mode this week, so no runs I guess. Then gonna look for some trails to start training on for the Sulphur race in May. Iโve recruited a couple of trail friends to run with for this training as I have zero experience at it. Have a great week everyone.
I started a post race jog quite a while back. After my marathon I felt much better after a little trot round - 5k as I recall Itโs on the myasics plans
A group of 5 of us finally got round to doing our virtual version of the St George's 10mile race to claim our medals yesterday ! It's a hilly old route route but was an enjoyable morning. Parkrun on Saturday was really warm and sunny!looking forward to the effects of the lighter evenings for our runs this week. Happy running every one xx
Hopefully I'm back to regular running business, now that I have a reasonable workload. And this week I should be back to my regular parkrun. I had a great time at Bushy on Saturday, and even met up with Paul Sinton-Hewitt again. I doubt he remembered me, but he chatted with me anyway.
The downside of my trip to the UK was my worst hay feber attack in 10 years. I had take a full dose of all my meds before going there, but I still ended up bug-eyed and coughing from all the pollen. Hopefully the cooler weather over here will get me back to normal soon.
Hi 3PO! Its great to hear from you again. Sorry about the hay fever. I had it really bad as a child. Some mornings could not open my eyes it was so bad. Its gone away in the last 5-10 years or so. Hope yours goes away too.
My meds usually take care of it. Luckily the main types I react to are 1-2 months apart in Norway, so I don't usually notice it. So it wasn't fun to go to the UK and find them all spreading at the same time. I just went for a 5k run, and am not sure if it was a good idea, as it brought on a bad coughing fit.
Oh eck ๐ฌ. Sorry to hear that ๐คจ Itโs early in the year to be suffering badly โน๏ธ My sister gets very bad with it Itโs miserable isnโt it ๐
I was planning to rest my legs for a couple of weeks after the half marathon, but a long weekend wandering around Amsterdam put paid to that idea!!!
Back home now, and I've said I'll do at least 2 swims a week for my April Quest on Bridge to 10k - I'd like to get my swim on since my next official engagement is the Brighton & Hove Triathlon ๐
Probably no running again this week, but I'll be back at it after that I expect! I've had a bit of calf trouble again, and am working on ideas for rehabbing it.
Windsurfing season is almost upon us again; I'm fairly sure I've forgotten how ๐
I'm going to up my strength training, but I haven't planned it out yet. And I've been thinking about yoga, but it'll probably just stay a thought...
today I was supposed to run intervals (9 miles with 6X600 mt. at 5K pace) but my legs were feeling very heavy after Sunday, so I decided to go for a slow 9 miles). tomorrow I'll repeat with 12 miles and I'll do my intervals on Thursday.
Thanks for that Sqkr - my first run in the cold and rain in ages this morning
I have just under two weeks to my second HM so am doing a variation of the last three weeks of Abi's plan as I did them before my last race (without the week off for skiing!). Today I ran a new route to build in some hills (inclines may be a more honest description) as there is a climb at about 2.5 miles in the Coast HM. About a third of my run was off road as well because the Beeaconsfield 5 mile trail run is also this month. Only put myself down for 50km in April, so a little less pressure for distance, although it should be close to 100k if all goes to plan. Here's to the return of some spring weather ....
After 10k and 5k PBs in March, Disaster Has Struck. I am injured after falling off my bicycle at the weekend on a gravelly bend not far from Chart Hill (the scene of benwill 's recent crash) at 14.5 mph. How do I know my speed that precisely? Hubby captured it on his chest cam which included a shot of his speedo (the bike type, not the unflattering swimwear). Look out for me on a future episode of YBF.
There's not much skin left on my right knee and it doesn't bend very well. Doc checked it over today and no sign of infection (I must have done a good job picking all the gravel out), just swelling and oozing.
Good job I'm not signed up for an event until June, although I do have a cycling event in 6 weeks. I hope 50 year old knees repair quickly.
At least I didn't break anything like poor benwill - How are you doing?
Had the dreaded lurgy for a week so my first run in 8 days is planned for today. My legs feel strange - strong, with no niggles, perhaps there's something to this "giving them a complete rest from time to time" malarky?
I'm in the same place as you Lordi - sick as a dog all week, working stupid long hours and no run for a week. Lying here staring at the clock knowing I should get out and try my run. Here goes nothing.......
