Well I managed to get up those hills first 5 miles uphill with quite a few more to follow. When it come to the downhill and flat sections wow were they welcome but by then I was too knackered to take advantage and my right knee was giving me jip. This was a real toughie and I’m aching like mad today. On the plus side the day was Beautiful sunshine thought it was boiling 🥵 the crowds were fantastic, I managed to bump into pianoteacher and mutelyshuffle and finished within my hope for time 2:14.52 so on the whole not too bad. Will I do it again ? Definitely. Well done to all you guys who ran over the weekend The weather looks good outside and I will be back at it as soon as I can walk properly again 😀

Wow. What a fantastic time for any half, let alone one with hills like that! Awesome job. Hope the knee niggle is temporary and just there to make sure you know how hard you worked 😀

Oh yes they were unbelievable and have left their mark on my legs today. Although it was hard I can’t believe how many of the good people of Hastings turned out with drinks jelly babies and oranges and cheered all the way round. Hopefully next time we meet it will be on our super flat parkrun 😀👍

The crowd were awesome! So many kids shouting come on you can do it and high fiving - hope lots of them will be inspired to have a go themselves once they're old enough 😁 See you at parkrun x

Fantastic work Runsome! Hope your knee holds up ok this week. Sounds like some crazy hills on this one. That medal looks solid!

Cheers Decker I recon the knee will hopefully be ok by parkrun on Saturday. Your right them hills were crazy or was it the runners who were crazy for running up them on a hot sunny day. That Medal is super heavy I think it’s solid brass I didn’t even have the energy left to get it out the packet at the end. Mind you the parking for the race was back up the top of the first steep hill so had to walk back up it again on way back to car it felt like I was staring another lap 🥴👍

Running in the heat is hard, no question, before the hills even! I think the medals you get in the UK are much nicer than most I’ve seen. Maybe the parking should have been part of the race!
