I ran my first half marathon today. There I've said it! Thankyou all for your encouragement and support. Running has given me so, so much especially over the last year. I had the enormous fun of running virtually with two of our sons. Ed in Rotterdam, Will in London.
Frankly third place in this group was never in doubt! On the run itself I was joined by my wife at around 15km on her bike. Despite threatening to do so, she resisted the urge to shout " run fat boy run". Two other friends happened to be cycling past at around km 16 and all escorted me in a socially distanced way to the finish. Just wonderful. Thanks once again and..... can I have a badge please?

Brilliant! π Congratulations- and a very respectable pace too!ππππ Love that your sons also ran virtually and that you managed to find your own course support for those last few tough km!!ππ
Yes it was. 2hr 13 min. Just relaxing after a warm bath, nice lunch and a glass of wine. I dont post all that much but would just like to add that your positive attitude and fun posts always make me smile. WE are all so lucky to have running IMHO
Congratulations to you on running your first Half Marathon, very good time as well, look out for the magic words HALF MARATHON next to your username π ππΎ π.
Congratulations on your first HM. At that fantastic pace I'm sure it will be the first of many. Your family will need electric bikes to keep up! Well done πππ π
Huge congratulations! What a wonderful way to finish your first Half Marathon!!! Sorry it's taken so long to get your badge to you, but there it is and it looks very smart and suits you well!!!
Absolutely no need at all to apologise! You guys are fantastic. Thanks a lot. Arriving in the post today was my tee shirt for Richmond runfest HM in September so I'll need to keep up with the training. Cheers and thanks once again. John
