Today I ran my first ever half marathon at Paddock Wood. What a great experience! The crowds were amazing. It’s hard to believe that I only graduated the couch to 5k program at the beginning of November.

Well done! I graduated last Autumn too but have given myself a bit more time to do my first HM (but I suspect I am somewhat older).
Paddock Wood is a lovely area. Maybe I will try this one next year if they do it every year. See you there?!

It was the 29th HM at Paddock Wood this year. It’s a popular race. I’m definitely planning to do it again next year 😊

I did my first one there too yesterday and apart from the wet, it was great and so well organised. Congratulations

Nice one Dave! How did you do?

The first 9 or 10 miles were pretty good, then my legs started to feel really heavy. They are rather achy today.

DaveMcK Half Marathon • in reply toHidden 7 years ago Probably a few 10k runs this year then Headcorn and Paddock Wood halfs next year. Not sure I could face a full marathon. Yesterday was really tough.

Well done , have heard good things about Paddock Wood. I imagined it was very hilly buth ave been told not. Hope you're not too sore today

It’s a very flat course so good for first timers. The legs are very achy today but not too bad.

Wowee! Congratulations 😀 So soon after graduating as well. That's food for thought for me....

It was hard work but so worth it. Going to concentrate on 10k’s and 10 miler’s this year and then do Headcorn half next year and Paddock Wood again. The crowds on the whole route were amazing.
