Hi all! Have your upcoming race published on the calendar page so that we can all cheer you along on the day.... be it a 5k, 10k, HM, marathon, ultra or climbing Mount Everest...
Just tell us the name of your event (or events), the date of the event and website if there is one, and we will add it to the list.
Here's a new thread just so it doesn't get too unwieldy--there's an awful lot of running going on, and loads of plans for future events. The picture is of Black Panther sprinting..... just because 😺

Thought I'd be the first to reply - I'm booked in for five races next year
Have been a bit of a winter couch potato recently, succumbing to gremlins etc, but I managed my first run for a while this week, and am planning on starting RoseAbi's HM plan tomorrow. That is in readiness for the Reading HM on 17th March, which is already on the forum list, as is (I think) the Cardiff HM on 6th Oct.
However I have also signed up for three other trips down to Wales to run with my sisters, all 10ks. They are the Cardiff Bay 10k on 31st March, Porthcawl 10k on 7th July and Barry Island 10k on 4th Aug.
Hello everyone - it's been a while, life (and training) has taken over!
I am taking part in the Windsor Winter Half Marathon on January 20, the -oh so enticingly named- Cookiethon on April the 7th (6hr lap race), which will be my final long run before.... London Marathon on the 28th of April!
Keeping busy and increasing my distance - it looks like a mountain at the moment but taking every week once at a time....
I squeezed a post in on the end of the last thread a few days ago but my race doesn't seem to have been added so here goes again - Hastings Half 24th March 2019 please 😊 hastings-half.co.uk
Not sure if it can be called a race, more like lots of fun, but UpTheStanley and I will be doing a 5k Santa Run on Sunday 9th Dec. Outfits have been collected, and following a few alterations we are raring to go.
Hi. I've just entered a Winter Solstice fun run / or walk on the 22.12.18
The run is a there and back run about 8.5 ish kilometres between two coastal villages on the Moray Firth. Start time is 2.30PM and is a race against the setting Sun. It gets dark very early here in Winter.
I have entered the Meadows Half Marathon on the 3rd March, despite saying I'd not enter any more races this coming year... Oo it's addictive this running thing. But I shall say misswobble made me do it 😁 I'll use it as part of my training for the more taxing half length races coming up later in the year, as it's very local, very flat and very lappy! Aaaaand I hear there is an excellent and very comprehensive training plan I can adapt after Christmas that should fit the timings pretty well! 😉
I've put this here so it's set in stone, but shall put myself in the events list—I won't be cheeky and expect you to do it ju or Abi! 😆
I’m doing the Leamington one too Windoze - it’s my first big run, and I’m in the ballot for the Two Castles too (🤞🤞🤞). Have you heard of the Big10k? It’s in Stratford, usually at the end of September.
Oh that’s good Windoze, I could do with a flat one to start with 😄. I am getting the hills in ready for the Two Castles so I’ll be disappointed if I don’t get a place. Can’t see me doing 4 events this year but thanks for the tip!
Yes, I think the Big10k is fairly new. I didn’t realise but entries are already open so I’ll be going for that one very soon. Details are on tempoevents.co.uk - it’s on the 8th September. I seem to remember last year it started on Shipston Road, went down Campden Road then back up the Greenway and into town.
Yep, Warwickshire too 👍 We do Stratford parkrun nearly every weekend but we’ve been doing a bit of tourism the last few weeks. Haven’t done Leam yet though so we must come up your way one Saturday!
Hiya. The Stratford 10k looks cool! Guess I'm going to have to get tickets hehe!
I've not done Stratford park run yet but it's on the list! When you venture over leamington drop me a message. Coffee cake and a natter after! 🤗
Wolf runs are 10k assault courses. Theres 4 in a year...you do all 4 you get an Alphawolf technical t...myself and a friend are going for the series. Not for the feint hearted but a jolly good laugh.
I've not done the actual route before, but have done chunks of it as part of other runs—and it's definitely got potential for a PB. And if the weather is nice the coastal bits along the John Muir Way will be lovely! If it's not...well, let's not think about that 😂
Whoohoo! Can't wait to hit the trails again. Hopefully this can spur me to get back outside training again (well that and if we ever get out of this extreme cold warning! Training outside with temps feeling between -30 to -40 C isn't safe or smart 😖)
I'm don't visit as much as I used to (or should) but always enjoy reading all the stuff when I do!
This year so far I'm booked in for the City Of Norwich Half Marathon on April 7th cityofnorwichhalfmarathon.com/ and raising money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance, The Henham Park Festival Of Running 10k (at the Latitude Festival site) henhamrunningfestival.co.uk... and the awesome RunNorwich 10k on 21st July runnorwich.co.uk/ (7,500 places sold out in 4 days!!), raising money for Headway. Entries open soon for the Lowestoft Half Marathon for October soon too.
No explanation needed for the Black Panther running pic, I'm only glad it wasn't Aquaman as my wife would have hijacked my screen!!
I'm doing 5km at the CPC race in The Hague on 10th March. I ran with my youngest the last 2 yrs, 1km and then 2.5km but this will be my first "proper" race and am hoping the gremlins stay quiet or only speak in Dutch so I won't understand and listen to them!
