Hi all! Have your upcoming race published on the calendar page so that we can all cheer you along on the day.... be it a 5k, 10k, HM, marathon, ultra or climbing Mount Everest...
Just tell us the name of your event (or events), the date of the event and website if there is one, and we will add it to the list.
Here's a new thread just so it doesn't get too unwieldy--there's an awful lot of running going on, and loads of plans for future events. The picture is just one of an alpaca because look at him flying there! I do enjoy alpacas.

Helsinki City Run on 18th May 2019. There is a HM, marathon and a new "double" (half marathon followed by a marathon 63km). I'm definately signing up as I ran the HM last time, but i've not made up my mind about whether to go for the DOUBLE or not yet though! Two races for the price of one! Might be a good way to start my "ultra" career? hcm.fi/en/content/helsinki-...
This year the sea was rough and they ended up having everyone swim just 400 m - it was low tide and people were walking most of the way to the first buoy!! I was glad I'd deferred π
I'm not sure I fancy Olympic distance at B&H because 4 laps for the run and 8 for the bike. A bit tedious! It is good because it's closed road, though - and very flat π As for the swim, just take it easy!
I did the super sprint triathalon at Brighton this year. My first triathalon, the swim was terrifying. I almost gave up..! I was almost last in the swim, but 5 people gave up and DNF the swim. The sea was super rough. It was overall an awesome experience though, everyone was dead friendly and the crowd support and volunteers were fab. I was buzzing for ages after finishing. I'd like to do the sprint next year, but I will see based on my rubbish swimming, I may stick with the super sprint as it's a very manageable distance. You will love it x
Am in Fayetville NC, got in late last night and staying at friends house. A bit nervous about the Ft Bragg Ten Mile Race tomorrow. Back has been acting up for a week or so and also feeling a bit battered and throat-achey from a Cold.
On the bright side, Iβve been asked if I will run with a Marine Corp Major no less - she had never entered for this before and is βslowβ so, like me, we will let the young hotshots gallop off into the distance (she is only a couple of years younger than me and hasnβt done much running for a good while so we might well be well matched - but probably as slow as I am she might also disappear into the distance after the first few hundred yards π)
Anyway - it will be quite an experience one way or the other so all AOK π
I love how if you half cover up the pic with your hand the back of the alpaca is pure speed, but the front is blissful serenity. I aspire to get a race photo like that.
Sunday I run in a 10k fundraiser to get stray cats and dogs off the streets and into good homes. My apologies but its very close to where I live so forgive me if I don't give more details.
According to my version of roseabi s new HM plan, I'm supposed to be running a 10k race on Sunday 17th Feb.
So what's a girl to do but trawl through the 'net and find a suitable race! So Royal Parks Winter 10k - Hyde Park, Feb 17th is now booked, just like the plan says
Aw man! I missed you! I'm so sorry! I thought I was following this thread, but the replies must have just got caught up with other notifications But you smashed a PB anyway, so clearly in no need of pompoms at all!
Hello Sqkr & co, Following a shout out from SlowLoris, UpTheStanley and I got some of the last few places on the New Forest 10K on 8th September. Such a beautiful part of Hampshire.
