It's getting colder. The days are getting shorter. But we know some of our intrepid VRB's will still be out racing in December, all the same.
This is where you can let know about your DECEMBER 2023 races and running events!
Whether this is your first race or you're a seasoned eventer, whatever the distance, wherever your event is being held, fancy dress or not - we’d love to hear what you’ve entered and show you some HU support!
Reply to this post with the name and date of your event, and include a link to the website if you can. Then we’ll add you to the events spreadsheet so that your VRBs can check out all the details – see here: docs.google.com/spreadsheet...
Most importantly, we can cheer you on your way on race day; your very own HU cheerleading posse will be there to give you a massive Friday POMPOM CHEER!
Wishing you good luck with your training, and happy racing!

Hi Linda, I have signed up for the Great Run Solo 12 Days of Christmas. I don’t normally enter a virtual race just for the bling as I actually love running with other people. But this one caught my eye as it’s got different challenges to do in December, anlong with 12 runs in 25 days and would give me a bit of an incentive to get out. Not to mention that the bling is also a Christmas decoration to go on my tree.
Hello! Guess what…another race 😁 The Milton Keynes Winter Half Marathon on 10th December, with Katnap and Shake-and-run ! It’s got fabulous bling and a big FordyRuns meet-up. mkwinterhalf.com (oh and the 3rd Winter Series the following week but you’ve probably got that one!) 🏃♀️🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♀️
A busy month for all you guys, but would we expect anything less? 🤩 Do keep reminding us about the winter series. We only record a month at a time as people's plans change, and as we do it on a changing rota things a nudge each month is very helpful; we'd hate to miss you.
Yes two Christmas runs for me for fun ( got the teeshirt now need a Santa hat to be ready!) First Newport festive five on the 8th December fullonsport.com/event/2023-... then Crickhowell Santa dash 5k on Sunday 10th !! I can only find this on Facebook, though you book through Fabian4..... 😊⛄
I like to keep running through winter and have done thus far. I have a race this weekend where it’s usually windy, and rain is forecast, which could make it horrible. fingers crossed it stays fine 🤞🙏
I might run a local 10k in December depending on how I feel post marathon. Got another 10k pencilled in for March
We’re lucky in the U.K. as our winters aren’t usually too bad, and the days we can’t run are few. That’s my hope anyways 🙂🏃♀️
I’ve got everything crossed 🤞🙏. The course is wet already. It has marathon and half marathon relay on Saturday so it should be well churned up for marathoners and half marathoners on Sunday. Ew 😁
I’m signed up for ‘The 12 days of Christmas running’. It’s virtual and is 12 runs one of each from 1-12 miles (or km) I’ll be trying it in miles to be completed between 1-24th December. Can’t link to that at as it’s a private FB group.
Also the ‘Longridge 7 pudding run’ on 10th Dec. This is very local to me and has about 270m elevation gain - it that a ‘slightly undulating course’ 😜. Its taken me a few years to be fit enough to give it a go. It’s 7 miles.
Just a wee 5k for me on Sunday, the Bexhill Santa Paws Dash, which I will be running with my little staffy Myrtle eventrac.co.uk/e/bexhill-li... First time for me running with a bunch of Santas, I am really looking forward to it!
I have taken a week or so off running to try and heal the mild achilles tendonitis that has been surfacing recently - have been doing all the exercises and it's starting to feel better. So will be taking it very easy on Sunday, definitely just a fun run 🎅🎅🎅🐕🏃♀️
