Well after weeks of sleepless nights and the Cardiff Half Marathon constantly being on my mind itโs come and gone.
I was the most nervous I have been in my life and the first few kilometres scared me witless. The sheer number of people and the pace was truly daunting. But we settled down and did it. At the end I was so emotional and had a little cry and the best cwtch off my wonderful husband who was wonderful and kept me going through the half with a smile on my face
This was my first run of any capacity ever after finishing c25k in June but there was method in my madness as didnโt want to be scared by distance so thought letโs just go for it.
So to all of you who do this regularly and full marathons I salute you as your all amazing!!
My body is now screaming at me what have you done to me today but the smiles say it all..๐โโ๏ธ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ๐คโ

Congratulations to you joBC for running and completing the Cardiff Half Marathon, ๐just shows what you can do if you really want to to achieve after you finished C25K in June, ๐
Thank you so much, must admit I am sore now. Even my hair hurts when I washed it ๐คฆ๐ฝโโ๏ธ sorry to read about your injury. Hope your out and about again soon x
It's a long way to run - not surprised it hurts! Look after yourself and rest and you'll feel better ๐ค
I've been given a recuperation plan for my injury and I'm now pain free when walking so can start some exercises tomorrow. Going to take my time to make sure it heals properly and am thinking of training for a half marathon as it will be a good way to build my endurance and reign in my temptation to run too fast! ๐
Well good luck and if you do decide to sign up for one, I can highly recommend Cardiff ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ๐โโ๏ธ
I think Iโm going to go back and do a bit of c25k again to build up my stamina short term again as think I got so fixated on the half I let the shorter runs slip.
Iโll keep a look out for your progress ๐โโ๏ธ๐๐ป
Absolutely amazing jo you have done fantastic ..i remember you doing the c25k ..just shows us all what can be achieved ..you look so happy in that photo ..well done to you both ๐๐๐
Thank you so much Myrar, hope all is well with you? Itโs been a slog at times but yesterday all those steps helped me achieve a massive ambition and it was so worth it. Even ended up catching the sun in sunny South Wales ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ.. itโs a cliche but if I can do this anyone can, truly!!
Well done a HM is a hell of an achievement and you should rightly be proud of yourself. Recovery is important too, so treat yourself to a nice bit of R&R. Embrace that couch for a day or four!
Thank you!! Luckily Iโd booked today off which Iโm glad about as a tad stiff but all worth it and going to indulge in a nice bath later with Epsom salts. ๐ค
