First of all thanks to you guys out thete for the advice given in the past. Completed the run in 2hr 18 min. Fantastic place to run my first half marathon, they say it's flat course true until you get to mile 12 and 13 when you to nice little hills when your legs just want to give up. Now to think what next to do next year repeat cardiff or try one of the others half out there any suggestion?

Well done - and that's a great time. I think the course planners like to be evil sometimes.

Way to go Herbie! Congrats on a great time and it sounds like a fantastic locale. I’m not from the UK so I’ve no suggestions for your next one but the fact you are already thinking about it is a great sign:)

Well done Herbie, my sister also ran in that race - we had done the Cardiff 10k together earlier, but the HM was a step too far for me at this stage, instead I’m going to be building up to the Reading HM in March. But yes, I thought Cardiff was a great location for my first ever race and in fact will be back there for another 10k (the MoRun) next month.

Not sure if it helps, but other ones that have been recommended to me by various “running chums” are the London Landmarks HM and the Severn Bridge HM.

Great time BTW :)

As a personal recommendation I'd say the Milton Keynes Winter Half, coming up in December, but it's quite a trek from Cardiff!

The Bath Half (March) might be more accessible for you, and it looks like an amazing event - I haven't done it but I'd like to!!

Congratulations on your super run! I'm a bit biased because I really liked it, but I say Glasgow! It's maybe too far...but a lot of fun.

Ooo so many new badges to give out! I always ask just in case (though I'm not sure what of!), would you like a forum badge? I've given out lots this week 😀
