Cardiff Half Marathon

The forecast was heavy rain to the point everyone on the local facebook was posting race day layouts with wellies! We got soaked walking from car to start but then it dried up and the actual race was hot and bright!!! Do not rely on any weather forecast to plan race needs! I loved the route though - a couple of little hills to throw you but nothing horrendous. The best bit was running across the barrage with sea breeze on you and boats either side 😀 The crowd was amazing and the whole way round, with live bands that were so energy boosting!! I didn't drink enough - relied on their water rather than taking own (if wet I would have been fine!) Got sick of jelly babies so only used at mile 4 and 7. My daughter saw me at 20k mark and we met my niece after who is there at Uni, and had a much needed lunch! I raised £355 so far for Alzheimers Society.

A very well done Cowladyrunning ! That looks a wonderful route around Cardiff. Isn’t the atmosphere at an official race brilliant; I just love the entertainment along the route.

I know! It’s been balmy! I ran yesters in a long sleeve with tee on top as it looked cloudy and grey. I ran as far as the loos in the park to whip off the long sleeve 😁🥵. I was much happier after that 🏃‍♀️🙂
