Removal men should be able to accurately judge distances, right?

An unremarkable 5k this morning in the drizzle. Trying to slow speed to 7 mins per km to extend distance and it's not proving as simple as it sounds but I was a bit slower today.

I've just bought myself a flip belt for my phone. In the early stages of my run today, mapmyrun kept pausing and starting up again. Guess that was my belly fat pressing against the screen! Switched the screen off and fixed that :D

Then trotting along happily, nice wide pavement beside main road, I can see three guys up ahead chatting. As I approach one moves out to the very edge of the pavement, carefully setting his heels precariously on the edge of the kerb while the other two pressed in against their removal van on the drive. How kind I thought to myself .... momentarily .... as I went through the gap, hands outstretched by my side to prove a point (elbows tucked in slightly just in case their judgement was indeed better than mine), I cried out 'I'm not quite THAT wide!' Not sure whether to be insulted or to think they were being very kind :D :D :D

So, not the most morale boosting of runs. On the plus side though, I did manage to book myself onto a pilates class for tomorrow that I've been on a wait list for. Thanks to the flipbelt, I managed to do that 'on the run' which wouldn't have been possible with the old armband. :)

Ha ha! I do hope you weren't looking at your phone while running, missis 😊

They were clearly just leaving room for your signature superhero roundhouse kick! 🤸💥

oops, guilty as charged (though only on your first point, no chance of the second ... but they didn't know that :D )

A great way to fall over, I slap your wrist 😉

They knew a superwoman when they saw one!!! ❤️

Heh to be honest I'd love to find a removal man that overestimates! Get their number! My poor sideboard with the post-move scratches down the side would definitely have benefitted from a bit more room...though I think I'd probably have been a bit miffed if they'd overestimated me too ☺️

It’s because they misjudge 6”

Flipbelt rocks

HAHAHAHA

I'm struggling with my flipbelt. The first time I wore it is chafed on my tummy! It must've ben sitting on the seam of some leggings which are normally fine, but the added pressure from the belt caused them to rub. I'm using diff leggings now so hopefully it will heal and then be fine :)

Try it on the hips, or mid between waist and hips. It stretches so is comfortable there

Will do! I definitely love the principle of it. so much easier than an armband, and on longer runs I won't have to carry all my tissues in my hands :D

I have one of the matching water bottles, that slips into the belt, and you can carry energy gels or other snacks too. And love the clip for keys.

I used the clip for the hotel key earlier this week :) I can't imagine a water bottle in there tho. I read earlier today that you have a hydration vest too. Which of the two do you prefer? I'm trying to increase distance and think a few sips of water might be helpful even in cooler weather, but not sure which option to go for.

For shorter runs, say 5 to 8k, the bottle is good. It sits comfortably and is contoured. For runs over 8k I use the pack. But really only when it’s hot. The bottle contains enough for cold runs.

.... more shopping .... :)

in reply to linda9389

😂 it was only a couple of quid - the bottle that is. The hydration backpack was £15

Hmm, bit more than a couple of quid, but bottle now ordered. Should be here in time for my holiday. Thanks for the info :)

Was it? Did you get it straight from their website. Sorry to have misled you. I was sure it was really cheap. Heyho 😳

Not expensive and def cheaper than the vest. No worries, I don't feel misled 🤣🤣🤣
