We did a 15k run to some horse stables on the other side of town, and back again which was nice, though cold at times, with a PILE of stairs and hills! It was trying to snow but never quite managed it. And I ran to the subway and home again later on to make up the 18k difference today. Not a straight up run, but whatever. Managed around a 6.5 pace across all the sections which surprised me. I was almost, sort of near the lead group 🙂

Hey look, horses!
Well done.... lovely horses. We have a horse she’s called Princess 👑
Nice run Decker. Sounds like the run group is good for you!
Thanks RFD, yes they are a very positive group of people. I was fortunate to have stumbled across them. They make you work hard though But because of the breaks I still have not run the full 18 all at once at this faster pace.
It will come in time! I am going out for a group 19k run this afternoon but feel really nervous. Nervous of the distance, the group and of expectations. Oh well I will see how it goes!
🙂 You’ll be great. Just do your own thing and zone into the run, it will probably be more fun than you think!
It was actually a good run out although I think we all had aching legs! I felt like a sloth when we started but got into the groove. It was tough at the end but 12.24miles or 19.6 km done. That is my last long run as the event is 2 weeks away so its taper time!!
Well done RFD, you are well set for your race now. What is your taper plan?
Mmm not sure exactly. There will be two runs this week, Thursday pos 8 mile and saturday 3 mile. The following week will be Monday 6 mile and Thursday 3 mile with maybe a short jogette on Saturday.
You’ll be fine shug! It’ll be good. Have a lovely time 💪🙂👍🏃♀️
Does my taper look ok misswobble?
Great picture Decker! Is that some green grass I see in the background!?! I'm so jealous 😉. We woke up to more fresh snow today but it looks like we are supposed to get above zero next week on the daytime highs. I haven't run in eons and am feeling it physically and mentally 😤😭. Hopefully soon. I can't bring myself to battle the winter running right now. I'm enjoying reading about your runs and adventures with your running group though. It sounds amazing.
I get why the winter runs would drag you down Sask. Enough already with the snow. Last Wed was a bad one for me, just cold, windy and grey. The group runs help to alleviate that mental weight for sure. Nothing stops these guys! Hoping you can get out soon even for some short ones. Are there any informal run groups you can join nearby?
Years ago there was one but I don't believe there is anymore. It would really help with the motivation. Oh well. Soon the snow will melt and we'll head to the lake to prepare the houseboat for launching and I'll get some great lake runs in again, for some much needed Nature runs ☺️. It is what I'm looking forward to the most. Work is not slowing down at all, but if the temperature will improve I may be able to get out for an evening after-work run some night 🤞. They'll have to be short, I don't know if these legs or lungs will tolerate anything else right now 😆.
Nice run! Nice horses too, well rugged up. I used to have horses and I miss them
well done speedy!! ! looks lovely there, i love horses
Sounds like a lovely run, with a very special ending.
