Recovery sandals/slides

I’m almost back on track with my marathon training plan now. Just the other day I was remembering how one of the experts last week said that he always picked fresh socks and shoes for after a race. This got me thinking: what about recovery sandals/slides?

I’ve seen them sporadically mentioned in various running publications, but of course I don’t remember where. I’ve googled a bit, but haven’t founded what I’m looking for. I’m thinking about the kind that are bumpy and massage your feet as you walk.

Any recommendations? I’m visiting London in 10 days’ time, so I’m hoping to get them then. The Runners Need website didn’t seem to have the kind I want.

Maybe I’ll even get some compression socks!

😁 shudder. Like wearing colanders 😁

My feet were fine post marathon. Mind you I didn’t have to walk far, only to the car park. I was in a hot bath about 30 minutes later. No discomfort from swollen feet etc

Mind you it was ruddy freezing.

Some people on the C25K Facebook group were raving about Oofos, but they don't appear to me to be bumpy, just squidgy :)

I know some people swear by them. I don’t have any but a good comfy pair of socks goes a long way!!! I will investigate and come back!!!

I have to admit to finding this a bit of a gimmick. What's wrong with a comfy pair of slippers?? :-)

I partly see you’re point, but after a long run I often need to massage me feet with a massage ball, so the idea of wearing slippers that do this appeals to me

The reason for my question is that after the race I’m going to my charity’s after party, and will probably be wandering the streets of London for a couple of hours before I get back to my hotel. I don’t think my lambs wool slippers are meant for outdoor use. 😜
