I will be doing a 15 mile training run in the woods on Sunday... I am really nervous as I need to do this mentally for my marathon training but its a little scary as I have factored in as many hills as I can!!
Enjoy the weekend everyone
Happy panthering,

I have planned a lovely route that follows old bar walls around York city centre (I had intended to run on the walls, they are open for pedestrians, but I have been informed they're very narrow and likely to be somewhat crowded given that it's end of half term, so I shall be on the nice wide pavement instead), then along the river on a nice grassy path for a long stretch followed by a lovely cyclepath that cuts through the outskirts of the city, then half a dozen km on small country roads and finally back to the starting point along a small lake at the university.
I haven't run in York for the last 18 months or so, so I'm quite looking forward to the scenery. The daffs on the banks by Clifford's Tower tends to be out very early, so with a bit of luck I'll get lovely pictures.
It was meant to be 27 km, but when I mapped it out in my lunchbreak and transferred the turn-by-turn instructions to my Garmin it came up as 28 km. By then I couldn't be arsed to go back over the route and try to shave a bit of distance off. And anyway, who's counting?
Hope you manage the hills Ju-Ju, that sounds hard core!
I'm running the Tarpley 10 in sunny Suffolk Sunday, it's the first time in 25 years I've run that far so fingers crossed, I've done the training though so should be fine. Hotbtub is heating in preparation of me collapsing afterwards. Signed up for the Hatfield 10k in may and the great East run half marathon in September. Think I've caught the bug! Damn you all, you runners you
That Hatfield 10k, is that a Hoohaah? If so me and OH are doing it.......would be fun to say hello! (We're doing the Hoohaah 10k series, Wimpole, Hatfield and Thetford...)
By the way, good luck with the Tarpley 10, have fun, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Oh I'm not sure what a hoohaah is but will look it up tomorrow, yes be good to say Hi, there are several of us going, mainly the marshals from GRL Needham lake
I have parkrun in the morningand on Sunday a 5 mile cross country, same route as last week but a handicap race where your previous time dictates when you start.... should be good! I came 6th last yr!!!
Good luck to everyone in their races and training runs x
I did a 15 mile trail run last weekend Ju. Just me and the trail. No water as I only set off to do a short run. Doh 🙄
It was quite hilly in places but not unduly. Good workout and it did make me think a marathon would not be out of the question, after more training that is 😀
