chemotherapy followed by maintenance avastin
I am getting carbo/taxol and my CA125 is 114. After 6 cycles the doctor wants to start avastin as maintenance. I am afraid that stopping the chemo and having only avastin won't keep the CA 125 down. Has anyone received maintenance avastin having a high CA125? Did it keep the CA125 at the same level

Prostate Cancer Diet and Re-purposed Meds
I was just reading a post about Jane Mcclelland's protocol regarding her book, "How to starve cancer." She also added a second portion on a book re-released, with a Ferroptosis (death by iron) protocol. I thought the criticism to be amazing. Cancer is a baffling mystery, top scientist and great minds

GemCarbo and picc line advice please!
Hi ladies, I've seen my oncologist today (well, one of his minions anyway) to find out about my treatment plan for my first recurrence. They've told me that I'll have gemcitabine with carboplatin this time round, so I was just wondering if anyone had any advice about this regime please?Even though carbotaxol

Surviving cancer: some options for you to consider
I just want to share with you all, that I was diagnosed with a T3 (5cm) Tumour called Adenocarcinoma, situated in the junction of the lower oesophagus and upper G. I (stomach) in January. Last year I kept complaint of chest pains, sore tongue and throat, thick mucus and not being able to gain weight

methotrexate
hi . I was previously on hyrimoz and methotrexate and was ok on them both . They found cancer Feb 2023 so had to stop the medication , I had platinum chemo last year and started back on methotrexate this week . Side effects are as bad as the chemo I can’t tolerate it and tbh I can’t relive chemo

Caelyx.... successful outcomes????
I have just finished six rounds of monthly Caelyx only. This is my fourth line of chemo ie. Third recurrence. While my CA125 didn't go down to normal level it was decreasing steadily until I got my results yesterday for the fifth round . It had risen to 257 from 189. I was really upset with this. I feel

I posted after last PSA and have the chemo # 5 PSA now. It was 0.12 again ,same as chemo # 4. I know this is low but I'm just worried it is not low enough and will stay there. Is it normal to stop at Chemo 4 and 5 . He got his last chemo and we will know what it is than but this waiting to see if it

Better chemo administration technique, takes into account each individual patient
“People with the same body surface area could have very different heights and weights, could have very different muscle masses or genetics, but as long as the height and the weight plugged into this equation give the same body surface area, their dose is identical,” https://news.mit.edu/2024/closed-loop-drug-delivery-system-could-improve-chemotherapy

Are bone and CT scans required quarterly if PSA and testosterone are basically zero and no symptoms?
I have stage IV prostate cancer with a spot on my lung being the only known spread of my cancer. After my chemo regimen, my CT and bone scans have been clean for a year now. And my blood work is perfect at the moment. I am on Zytiga and getting a Lupron shot quarterly. My doc still wants

severe covid vaccine reaction, & ibuprofen
After 4 or 5 covid vaccines with very minimal side effects , the most recent vaccine left me sick with fever and several lymph nodes swelling up within a few days. 2 nodes in armpit under the vaccine were extremely swollen and very painful. so much so, that I could not sleep on that side for weeks

Recurrence
I know with over OVCA (or any cancer), everyone hopes for “one and done”, but life sometimes doesn’t work out that way. I have had a number of reoccurrences but want to share that so far I’ve been knocking them back with various treatments, whether it be chemo, radiation, targeted therapy, immunotherapy
