Two spots within 10 days with myopic cnv

Hey. Has anyone experienced getting another "spot" 10 days after getting an eyelea injection in the same eye? I thought the medicine stays in the eye for a month, so how can a new spot develop during this time? So many unanswered questions! If anyone knows anything, I'd appreciate your insights.

Welcome to the forum!

When you say "spot" do you mean the air bubbles that are common after an eye injection and appear to be on the ground? They usually disappear after 24 hours and there is no obvious reason for them to reappear.

Have a good Christmas!

By spots I mean vision loss spots that occur when the blood vessels push at the retina prior to possibly perforating.

See what the Macular Society say. Have you asked your consultant?

this happened to me! I had a bleed in my eye and had an eyelea injection for it and the same as you, I had another bleed appear after 10 days. I couldn’t understand it as I thought it the injections stayed in the eyes for about a month. My doctor was confused too and would not have expected this to happen but he did remind me that the drug in the injection only kills the growth of the existing blood vessels and stops them growing more, it can’t prevent new blood vessels growing

Hope you’re okay and wishing you all the best

What ended up happening with the second bleed? Did he give you another injection? Did it recede on its own?

I had another injection 4 weeks later as he couldn’t give me another one straight away as I’d only had the first 10 days ago and needed to wait 4 weeks. It went down on its own thankfully and I assume with help from the injections. Wishing you all the best hope you are okay! Take care

Hello youngcnv,

How many injections have you had for your myopic CNV?

Have you reported your change in vision to your ophthalmologist? If not, then it is important to contact them, which you can do via their secretary.

The most frequently that they can inject is every 28 days.

We have a myopic macular degeneration support group which may be of some assistance to you:
