Eylea left me with permanent floaters... HELP

I've been diagnosed with CRVO since June 2020. I received Avastin shots for the first 7 months with no complications or lasting floaters, then 3 months with Lucentis, then my RS experimented with Eylea on the 11th month and now I have a permanent floater that looks like an opaque blurry jellyfish in my vision. My vision was only DISTORTED and not as blurry with the Avastin shots, now it's worse than ever. Has anyone experienced negative results from Eylea? Seems like the most expensive drug has caused me even more damage to my eyesight. Scared and frustrated...

I have had a cnv related to extreme myopia. I've had 4 eylea injections, distortion improved but have been left with inceased darkening in vision in that eye.

I find it interesting what you report, opaque jellyfish. Mine are opaque strands/lines similar to your description. Reported to doctor and was given given my 4th injection no change. Not sure what it is but it is of interest that you report the same experience.

I have discribed what you report but they see no clear evidence of a cause so please keep me posted with any finding that you come up with, i am being referred to a glaucoma clinic for further investigation as the pressures in that eye is 21, possibly get yours checked as well.

Hello and thanks for your reply. I am very myopic as well, but my pressures are always normal. I went to my monthly visit to my RS recently and he told me that he thinks the floater / "jellyfish" I'm still seeing is called a "Weiss ring". Not sure what to do about it either, and he offered no advice (as usual). He then gave me the option to inject either the avastin, eylea, or lucentis on this visit since the OCT showed that my eye had not changed much from the last visit. (I do find it disconcerting that my DOCTOR is giving me the option - shouldn't he be the one making the recommendation of which medicine I should have based upon my condition?) I brought up my fear of injecting Eylea because IMMEDIATELY after I received Eylea for the first time, the jellyfish floater appeared and has caused permanent blurriness. He told me that he feels there is "no connection" between the medication and the floater appearing. I don't necessarily agree with that... TOO much of a coincidence for me since I had no lasting floater problems before that injection. So I opted for the Lucentis. I feel like he is just experimenting with the different medications each month, but the swelling and the distortion never fully resolves. I also feel like the doctors in this profession don't really know how to resolve the CRVO, so they just keep making money on us, giving us little or no advice, and keep giving these injections. This has been going on for over a year, and I see no end in sight...😐

Avastin only worked a short time with my myopic degenerative disease. When they switched me to Eylea it worked great. I would see that jellyfish as you described for a couple of days,but it has always gone away. Everyone’s eyes are different. I wish you luck and hopefully it will go away.

**I did not like the Avastin, I get Eyelea now and prefer it in all ways.
