I read on the NHS Corona virus stay at home advice, to use Paracetamol and IBUPROFEN . Yet, Ibuprofen is an anti inflammatory and it can worsen the condition. They have advised not to use it in France if you have the Corona virus symptoms.

The French Prime minister also said people prescribed anti inflammatory drugs, because of an ongoing condition / illness, should not stop taking them, but consult their doctor. Hopefully the NHS Stay at home Advice ( dated 13th March 2020, due to be reviewed on the 16rh March, today, will be updated.

fullfact.org /health/covid19 has the facts on this.

Essentially it's about the side effect of potentially exacerbating some underlying health probs. This is generic and not only related to covid19.

Paracetamol has fewer side effects of this nature and so is preferred treatment for fever ( a covid19 symptom).
