Hi all - hope you are keeping well and free of the corona virus. Does anyone on here take Jarrow formula Methyl B-12 dietary supplement - if so is it safe to take - 100 chewable lozenges of 2500 micrograms at one per day - i would appreciate comments as to whether they are good or not and if not - what would be the best to take to help the optic nerves - thanking you in advance and wishing you all good health. Thank you.
Hi there - could anyone please tell me if ... - Macular Society
Hi there - could anyone please tell me if it is safe to take Methyl B12 - Jarrows formulas-
We aren't qualified to give that sort of information xeena, you should see your GP or you could ask your opthalmologist or optometrist. There may be people on here who have tried the Jarrow B12 who can advise how they have found them but as to whether it can help the optic nerves, as I said that' s a question for your GP etc.
Thank you for the speedy reply - but my GP will not help me - he will not even give me eye drops - neither will the optician - i have tried the hospital and they only have limited appointments and it will take some time before i can be seen. Keep well and safe.
Good Morning Xeena,
We aren't nutritionists here, it might be worth contacting the British Nutrition Foundation - they should be able to answer your query - their contact details are below:

Is it worth seeing an S.R. dietitian? Most GP surgeries have one or are able to refer you to one. That's what I'd do! Good luck!
Hi there - thank you for your comment - i have asked my GP if i can see a dietitian for my stage three kidney disease as i only have one kidney which is getting worse and painful - he said no to that nor will he let me see a nephrologist so he will definately not let me see one for my eyes - he will not even let me have any eye drops - i just give up. Thank you - keep safe and well.
