I am new here. I was diagnosed with wet macular degeneration last July in my right eye. I had it for awhile but did not realize until my annual check up. My left eye is still dry but can switch at any time. I had 3 injections of Avastin and did well. I wanted to switch to Eyelea and finally convinced a new Retina Specialist to inject me last week. I am now beginning to feel like my eye is not doing as well as before. Is there really a difference in results? I cannot get answers from Doctors but I can tell they are thinking about my condition and the treatment. This diagnosis is so frightening and I am alone in trying to get the right treatment.

Injections for Macular Degeneration
Hi, sending you a hug x Diagnosis is always scary and much like a bereavement so be kind to yourself.
The Macular Society will have lots of info on their website or you can email/ tel them.
It's my understanding that eyelea is formulated for the eye but avastin isn't so eyelea is better for the body as a whole.
Unfortunately eye conditions can be variable but that doesn't mean it won't become stable. However, any changes should be reported to your eye clinic. Depending how long after your last inj they may want to re inj.
You say one eye is still dry - so you have been diagnosed with amd in both eyes ( one wet, one dry)? Or do you mean wet in one but nothing in the other? Important difference. Have you been given an amsler chart to check your eyes? It's a good idea to check weekly.
Wishing you all the best going forward.
