Hello jjnan

Does it ever end? It must be rather worrying for you. A month is a long time to wait. I hope it does not cause you any pain and that everything goes well for you. Sending you my best wishes and a big hug. xxx

yes a month is a long time, and i fought to get to this stage, its wearing but not much i can do .....thanks for best wshes and hug :) ....hope its all going well for you xx

You could ask about the possibility of an MRI scan with contrast and weighting. It could confirm whether or not the lump is benign.

Doc i saw only deals with eyelid surgery...hes passed me on to Ocular surgeon, he said they are the experts and will do biopsy ...but still a month!..xxxx

in reply toJJnan

Have they indicated what they are looking for in the biopsy? I do not wish to alarm you but if they suspect cancer then 3 weeks is too long.

The rules are that they should carry out the investigation within 2 weeks. Is the surgeon an oncologist or an ocular oncologist? The expertise is very different.

What hospital are you attending?

Cancer of the eye is extremely rare at only 6 per million worldwide ie just 300 per annum compared to over 55,000 breast cancer cases per annum in the UK.

i was referred to this eye surgeon about this "lump" on Feb 7th, he dld lots of tests with lights ..measuring devices..and blood tests ...he ordered a CT scan marked urgent,,,,if CT showed anything, then i would have MRI ...in the meantime he sent letter to Ocular surgeons not to hold up app...CT doesnt seem to show anything nasty but Ocular surgeons will determine a biopsy or not ...April 20th...i have had lots of trouble to get to this point as eye clinic ignored the fact something wrong .....only concerned with macular....he did mention a tumour but CT not showing anything ......im just glad im getting somewhere at last .....so not a lot i can do except wait but thank you for concern RennatK.........not the only clinic im having issue with at local hosp....lots worse off than me on waiting lists :( x
