Update on Laser treatment

I went to the hospital on Friday for the planned laser treatment of IOL. The doctor I saw did a check on the lens and said that it was only marginally clouded. He didn't think that the treatment would make much difference to my sight. I said that as I have only one eye with any central vision, I didn't want to take any unnecessary risks. He agreed and said he thought that was the right decision.

Can anyone tell me if there has been a change on this site for writing a post? I have spent more than an hour trying to find how to start a new post. Something tells me that it's more likely to be my poor sight rather than any changes. It is so frustrating but, I know I have to keep at it or loose it forever!

Hello Bobbie915 - I have just the one eye with any central vision, so I understand your situation. I experiment with diet a lot, but no-one else seems the slightest bit interested. We're having a very warm spell of weather, and my vision became very clouded. Doc's always saying 'Drink more water' so I thought maybe I am getting dehydrated with this heat (37C - 100F) so started drinking much more than normal 2 days ago. Related or not, my vision is less cloudy now.

I think you just click on 'Write a Post' - never seen anything about starting a new topic. I've spent hours looking for some place I can ask a straight question and get an informed answer. Can't be done, apparently. Strange, I would have thought that was a top priority ...

Rollerboy, try asking your question direct to the Macular Society via their helpline/ email. I know they do comment on here but I think this forum is more for us to connect with each other and share our individual experiences.

Alternatively I guess you could title a post " question for the Mac soc" which might get their attention?

Only one doctor has told me to drink more water. I did for a while but then forgot to keep it up. Great to know that you have benefitted from it. I will try to remember to drink more.

I just looked for the Write a new post option. Found the word 'Write' in a blue box at the top right of this page; that's on a monitor, not sure what it looks like on a phone or tablet though.

Thanks Mike, I can now clearly see "Write" at the top of this page. I have no idea why I couldn't see it yesterday. The only thing that has just dawned on me is, because I have accessibility (for very large print) turned on, on my Mac Laptop, the full display of the window is bigger than the screen and perhaps I wasn't scrolling across far enough to see it. I think my fuzzy eyes sometimes makes my brain fuzzy too. LOL.
