If your vision is obviously deteriorating then go to your a&e dept asap they will have an on call eye Dr.

Don't wait for your hosp appt.

My clinic give me a number to ring and say to go to a&e outside their hours.

Hope it's not serious for you but please don't take any chances as damage cannot be reversed.

Hi Carol,

I am so sorry to hear about your macular oedema.

I agree with 'Eyesright' - If your next hospital eye appointment is on 1st August, it is unlikely that you will get an earlier appointment.

If you are worried about your deteriorating sight, I suggest that you go to the hospital eye department A&E department. Just to make sure that there isn't something that needs urgent attention.

If you would like to discuss further, please call the Macular Society helpline on 0300 30 30 111 (9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday).

Best wishes

Further to my last post , have had yag laser on subcapsular problem , but oedema has continued for at least six months and now have membrane over the oedema. Consultant said there is an op for this but can go wrong . He has now told me to reduce maxidex down to none and review late December. I am worried the problem could get worse .
