Hello Maureen,

This will be at the discretion of your husband's consultant or the person; (this may be an experienced 'Registrar' or sometimes an Eye Clinic Nurse), giving the injection. The injections are carried out in a 'clean room' which is like a small operating theatre.

You can ask however. Others on this forum may have had experience of this and may be able to give more information.

Incidentally, if your husband is concerned about having the injection, if you call the society helpline 0300 30 30 111 (9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday), we can give him the name of and telephone number one of our members who has had injections. He can then speak to them for more reassurance.

Best wishes

Hi there. I have had injections over the last 3 years and although I have never seen anyone other than the patient enter the 'clean room' it may be possible. I however think this is unlikely becsuse it is a very sterile environment with everyone gowned up. But do still ask.
