after my previous posts my body decides to go mad again, developed the worst headache and major increase in twitching, managed to finish my shift but was then awoken by the twitches then had a nice loss of vission in my left eye. it came back after 10 mins, worried but managed to stay calm and get back to sleep. long story short got admitted, had more bloods done a ct scan and for good measure a lumbar puncture, twice. weirdest part about this event is that i missed my dose of folic acid and the tremours have reduced to nearly none, pain on the other hand has increased.but generally feel better so now quite confused, please advise or comment thanks, mark.
thought it was going to well....: after my previous... - LUPUS UK
thought it was going to well....
Blimey mark sounds like a very tough day. It's wierd how we discover things. I had the same epiphany about milk. My sinuses were really bad had been for ages. Then I caught a gastric bug about a month ago and couldn't drink milk for about 10 days. Then I discovered my sinuses got better. Thing is I was drinking more milk to help keep my calcium up as I am on steroids. So now have the dilemma of staying off milk or not.
It sounds to me that you should listen to your body. If you feel better off them then stay off them.
Mind you I am not on folic acid so I do not know why you have been taking it. Was it prescribed?
Hi Scooby, I too am on folic acid and have tremors, I may lay off it a while and see if they subside... I put them down to current bout of Lupas, we'll see eh?
Yo
lol Mark... Us nurses are the worst for self medicating, or not as the case may be... My tremors are intermittent anyway and not too bad. Ive just ran out of my folic tabs, I wont rush to get my script and see what happens.. Yo
Hi scoobydoo
Sorry to hear you have been having such a hard time. I hope all these tests & investigations finally give you some answers. X
Hi Mark, I couldn't see any side-effects on google, other than that taking too much folic acid (as a supplement) could mask a B12 deficiency - though it did say taking too much could be harmful. Saw two websites that may be useful - listing foods rich in folic acid. Lots of nice foods on the 2nd one:
1) nhs.uk/Conditions/vitamins-...
2) globalhealingcenter.com/nat...
Hope you feel better soon. xxx
