Hi Les & welcome
Your in the best place to learn about your illness, & get feedback from your fellow lupies.
Night sweats seem to be a common feature of lupus. I get them when I'm in a flare ie symptoms are worse or I've over done things & worn myself out. In my experience they tend to calm down when the lupus itself does. But if you feel they are persistent or getting worse, it might be a good idea to let your GP or rheumy know, in case medication needs to be adjusted accordingly.
Do your toenails go white & crumbly before they fall off? Mine do, & it's caused by lupus vascuiltis effecting the blood flow to the nails. It could also be a fungal infection, which you are more prone to if you are on immuo-suppresants for your lupus. This can be easily checked by taking some nail clippings to your GP practice for testing, & then the appropriate treatment can be prescribed.
I hope this helps. Take care of yourself. X

Hi Les, yes I can sympathise with you.I'm fed up with being told my night sweats are menopause. Ive had then for 10 years now and with hyper- thyroid and Lupus it does appear
as roobarb sais to be an ongoing problem. I have white all over my nails and they crumble. Im hoping Plaquenil helps as many have said their nails grow on this although Im still waiting.
I am going to do what Roobarb said and see GP. The Rheumatologist said its not fungal but the Endocologist said it is, so who knows. So many conflicting opinions.
As for night sweats well I had this stand in young Chinese man who gave me the ins and outs of Menopause. After going through early menopause from Hysterectomy 10 years ago in my 40s I now have to put up with the humiliation that all women go through it and it causes night sweats again. Yes we know that but does it continue? some young consultants need to brush up on Lupus and menopause. I wish you all the very best. I can only say its ongoing and Im living day by day- some nights good and some nights really bad. x
