The weather is affecting my lupus: I wonder if... - LUPUS UK
The weather is affecting my lupus
havn't been diagnosed yet but cold weather does affect my body not much help i know but your not alone x
I am the same, my whole body aches more than usual and I feel flu-ey and shattered.
Can't believe it, me too. Terrible crushing fatigue until yesterday and then very stiff joints, yesterday and pain under ribs (achy rather than intense but there all the same). Also woke this morning to red rash on both sides of neck, chest and discoloration on face (took pics for rheumy appointment). Energy very low at the moment and trying to make myself go for a swim but can't summon up the energy. Not sure if the fatigue is better in summer/winter at the mo and whether it just needs stronger meds......still learning I think.
Woke up this morning as stiff as a board. I always feel better in the warmer weather,(not too hot), even if i can't go out in the sun.
Exact the Same. My partners family find taking the piss helpful, thinkin that I'm making it up. It's bloody hard tho. Try stay warm
The cold is definately contributing to my joints being worse too! However I find the winter easier to cope with than the summer, in terms of fatigue, best time is spring so hope it rolls in soon!. Take care and keep warm! xx
Yeah exactly the same, unbelievably stiff and sore could hardly get out of bed, was so bad i had to buy a walking stick when out yesterday as was struggling to walk, pensioners 30 years my senior were moving faster than me. Got gp on Thursday as gabapentin along with tramadol for pain are doing absolutely nothing, fingers crossed he will try me with something else. Chin up ladies hopefully the weather wont last and we will start feeling a little less pain xx
Yes, the cold weather makes me seize up but I try to keep as mobile as I can as keeping still makes me even stiffer. x
Yes me too. Rheumy told me that there were more viruses around in the winter for our bodies to try to fight and that can cause immune system to go on overdrive and flare. Also I have Raynaud's syndrome (sounds like you might too) and that is exacerbated by cold weather. Stay warm, take care.
I am exactly d same, I feel so poorly my fingers are so sore. I am so sad dat I feel like this cos tomorrow I have an appointment with my manager regarding my resumption. I feel so ill, but I need to get back to work cos I need d money.
So my dear ur not alone in d pain. Wrap up properly and I pray we all get better.
winter makes my joints hurt more and back stiff and painfull and my raynaulds is with me 24/7 but im happier winter/spring as summer i get those symtoms with bad fatigue, visual migraines, night sweats, purple spots, blurred vision and nausea thrown in too! lol and avoiding the sun is a nitemare lol
Yes, and it's the same every Winter Jenny! Not so much the cold but the high, bone-penetrating humidity AND freezing temps. We should all emigrate!
hey,we relocated back from perth australia in june last year ,my lupus went from managable to chaos, shingles ,bladder infections galore and more ,The australian heat in perth is intense for around six months it absolutly exhausted me ,and i became afraid of heat in the end ,however since being back in the channel isles ,all my other symptoms to do with connective tissue pain, joints ,are extreme and def have got even worse as it becomes cold ,i cant win either way <like someone said roll on spring, and then autum ,but i would rather be cold and layer up than die fron heat exhaustion ,heat causes a lot of stress on our system and can drain the adrenals another issue we lupies suffer from ,i think its an individual thing for all ,so speaking from experience as tigerlily mentioned emigrate .....just be carefull where you emigrate lol!an ideal world would be 20dgs day 15 dgs at night peeeerrrrrrrrrfeccctttt!
