Today I woke up with dizziness, I couldn’t walk without nearly falling over. I called ambulance as I was on my own with my kids, I’ve had a lot of stress lately too. Do you think this is lupus related or something else as in 2016 I had strong dizziness and it ended up being TIA so it does scare me but today it’s coming and going.

Is my dizziness lupus related?
Hi I have Lupus too I had this about 3 weeks ago and it was because I had low blood pressure - the GP told me to have 1/2 teaspoon of salt in water twice a day and it seemed to do the trick - if it carries on you should call your Doctors surgery for advice xx
You should go to A & E because of your history of TIA and lupus. Please don’t try to diagnose yourself. I know you don’t want to have to spend time in an A & E, but your health is the most important thing right now.
Yes, lupus certainly can cause vestibular neuritis or neuropathy. If on immunosuppression, herpes zoster can also cause nerve problems along with vestibular neuritis. This causes vertigo which is miserable. You should see neuro-optho or an ENT to assess vestibular function. Go to emergency room if it doesn’t improve. You can’t live or eat with that.
I am dealing with the same thing now. About to start IVIG for cranial neuropathy including vestibular neuropathy.
Yes they have told me it’s vertigo
There are many things that can cause vertigo. Make sure they don’t tell you it’s benign paroxysmal positional vertigo BPPV. That’s caused by crystals in your balance tubes in your ears. You want to make sure your actual nerves are functioning properly.
A neuro ENT or neuro optho can help assess vestibular function at the nerve level.
Assume it’s a TIA first and take necessary precautions as it is serious. Hope
Fully, A&E assure you it’s not and then you can explore Lupus. Good luck.
What did ambulance say? We really can't advise on this as it all depends on your observations and bloods etc. There are so many causes of dizziness, some are scary and some completely benign. If it's come on suddenly and isn't normal for you then you need to be checked out.
All the best x
Low blood pressure is my problem too, i have to excercise (force myself to excercise) every day eat enough of salt etc...
Poor you, scary for you and your children. I definitely think it's related. I have had vestibular problems for over 6 years. Had brain scan and vestibular physio. The physio did help but it's there all the time but varying degrees. Some days I am so dizzy. It feels like I have drunk about 2 bottles of wine but cheaper😁 I found it scary a the beginning but now just accept I am not getting rid of it. I have tried to work out if it's something I eat, or I am tired etc but think it's just there. I do sometimes feel like I might have a stroke.
