Hi Kerro,

I'm afraid that at the moment we don't have any active support groups in Sussex. There has been some interest but previously there wasn't enough to get the group of the ground.

We do have intentions to attempt to set up support group in Sussex as soon as we are able. If you find some other people interested in starting a group then we'll be more than happy to help in any way we can. I actually had somebody ask me about a group in west sussex the other day on facebook I believe.

I can also keep you updated on any developments of groups in that area if you'd like?

There is a Lupus Support and Chat Group in East Sussex which meets once a month in the Centre of Brighton. I used to live there but now live in West Sussex and still try to attend when possible. Perhaps we could set one up in West Sussex too...

Hi LaughItUp,

If you do have contact details for the East Sussex group we would really appreciate it. I'm sure we know of a few people that would be interested in going along.

Hi I live in Crawley & would be very interested to have the details of the support group in Brighton & of course it would be great if there was one nearer, although Brighton is not a million miles away!! I was diagnosed with Lupus in March of this year & then in July I was also diagnosed with Rheumatiod Arthritis or as my Rheumatoidologist called it "Rupus". Like many people I've gone through feeling a sense of shock & relief that finally after years of feeling awful & constantly tired that there is a reason! When I read the symptoms of Lupus I think it's easier to say which one's I don't suffer from!!! It's has been of great reassurance to read other people's blogs ~ as I feel like someone understands & feels the way I do ~ & that actually I'm not going mad! Thanks for this support!!

I look forward to getting the details of the Brighton support group!

Hi again,

Yes, I'll forward some details when I get the chance. Don't have them handy right now as I'm not too well and am very busy with hospital appointments.

Keep well until then x

The next meetup is on 11th November at noon at Starbucks coffee shop on the corner of New Road and (I think) North Road. It's the one opposite the Jubilee Library in Brighton anyway.

I would like to come along to the support group in Brighton, but have a hospital appointment at 11.45 so would be a little late; do you think this matters? Also, do you know the age range of the group, as I'm 24 years old and wondered if this would be a problem?

I have just missed this, saw it on the hospital notice board just too late. But would love to come to the next meeting... do you have a date for that yet?
