I was diagnosed a year ago now and have my ups and downs with not only the physical effects of the illness but also the psychological ones. I have recently bought a book about living with chronic illness and although I have found this incredibly useful, I am feeling a bit isolated, I suppose. Does anyone know if there are any gatherings or groups in this neck of the woods? I am a member of LUPUS UK if that helps

If you Ring Lupus U/K they will put you in touch with your group in your area if they have one,or a local contact. You are never alone with Lupus we are all friends sharing the same illness on web or phone or face to face.
Hi Chocolate, I'm in Shepherds Bush and am too a member of Lupus UK, who have a north London group that I was thinking to contact at some stage, as I also have periods of isolation that I don't think helps things overall. My Dx was just over a year ago now and I am not yet 'settled'. My Dr has referred me for Psychological support, which is proving very useful, are you receiving anything like that? As it is available and the Dx was, for me anyway a life changing context.
Thanks for your response. Would you be a able to give me the details for the Croydon and North London groups please? Do you know if either meet regularly? I don't think either of them have websites, do they?
