Red eyes

Hello, I was wondering why I keep getting these red ringed eyes. I can handle the rosey cheeks (everyone thinks you look healthy), but what causes both upper and lower rims of eyes to be red. Does not look healthy, looks like my 83 year old mother. Just asking . . .?

I had a photograph taken some time ago, I know the machines produce terrible ones but I also had red rings it looked terrible. I felt even worse. I try to avoid mirrors which is probably why I hadn't noticed them before.

I do have Sjogren's syndrome so use eye drops. I do not know if this could be significant.

Thank You willow80! I know I go through times when my eyes are very bloodshot in the mornings, but it goes away during the day. I thought it could be air vent next to bed and so cover it at night but doesn't make much difference. It scares me a bit because that is how my big flare last year started - with very sore bloodshot weepy eyes. Thanks for input.
