I am applying for a Blue Badge. I know i should fill it in describing how I am on my worst days, but do I say that it varies and some days are not too bad, or just complete as if all days are the worst days. Any advice would be welcome
Blue Badge: I am applying for a Blue Badge. I know... - LUPUS UK
Blue Badge
Hi complete it for your bad days, if you use any aids for walking or shopping then say so. Make sure you list all of your illnesses too especially if you have IBS, I got my Blue Badge with no problem but then I have to use a wheelchair for shopping. I hope you get yours ok xx
I was trying do my form but I'm afraid they'll catch me out. Yesterday I was ok today I'm crippled up
please do it on a bad day .if you ? yourself then ask you self how many bad days do i have
we all have our good and bad days.
Hi, My son who has special needs has a Blue Badge - he gets this as hes on the highest rate DLA & mobility... BUT I have always been told when describing anything it has to be based on your worst day.
I have never felt they are trying to catch me out - they're not worried about people with true medical conditions and do understand that some days are better than others.

I agree with all of the above, Please put it as all your days are bad day's, but just remember to enjoy the good day's xx
I just got my Blue Badge. I think the best thing to do is to remember why you need it and just explain that reason. I wrote on my form that I needed it to help me when I have to work at a location where there is no nearby parking and that not being able to park there interferes with my ability to do my job.
I also explained that I suffer with chronic pain that ebbs and wanes but is always with me and that my fatigue means that my life consists of me working and coming home and sleeping. I have no social life at all really.
My area has a terrible reputation for awarding Blue Badges so I was not confident I would get it but the assessor was very fair.
I have crutches, but I didn't take them as I could walk (just about) without them on that day. I think they can tell if you take walking aids and obviously don't need them so I thought it would be best to just do what I would normally do. I told her I had crutches and used them on very bad days.
Don't worry about the process. Be honest about the condition as if anything you will feel more comfortable. Explain the really bad days - which I think for many of us means laying in bed in agony all day and be honest and say some days you aren't so bad if that is the case. I explained that I used to have more good days than bad and now I have far more bad days and a few goodish days.
I hope this is helpful. I have seen a few people asking how they should act at the assessment and so on and the key thing is not to act because unless you are Meryl Streep - you will feel anxious and will not answer the questions well.
So think of the reasons you need the Blue Badge and explain those reasons and how you think having it will help you.
Hi I applied for a blue badge and got rejected! I'm so disappointed! I described my bad days and how it's effects me going out.I even use a walking aid.the day I had my assessment I couldn't get someone to look after my kids as it was Saturday so left my husband to look after the kids and went to for the assessment on my own..they refused me saying that's I'm able to walk with my walking aid and did it on my own.. Should I appeal against their decision?
